Position Summary
The primary objective for the Skills Training Coordinator is to successfully manage projects which improve employers' access to qualified candidates through the coordination of both customized and in-demand occupational skills training. The Skills Training Coordinator manages projects that assist post-secondary institutions and vocational training facilities with the recruitment of WorkOne customers and implementation of training related projects. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting training providers in navigating systems for approval, procurement processes, project implementation, qualitative reviews, tracking, and reporting both internally and externally. The Skills Training Coordinator communicates and collaborates with a variety of internal and external customers to identify and recruit occupational skills in demand in our region. The Skills Training Coordinator is a member of the Career Services team at EmployIndy and reports to the Workforce System Development Manager.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
• Serve as an academic and vocational training expert and responsible for delivering skill development opportunity intelligence to both internal and external customers
• Coordinate employer interface and serve as employer point of contact for executed customized training agreements
• Seek to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all WorkOne Skills Training services activities with constructive and creative approaches to challenges
• Demonstrate sound time-management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing and prioritizing marketing and recruitment efforts and employment opportunities
• Maintain statistics related to project performance and submit reports to both internal and external customers in a timely manner
• Create and implement project management plans while coordinating systems to deliver on commitments made to funders and customers

Education and Qualifications
• Associates degree in business, human resources, or related field (experience may be substituted for degree) preferred
• Two years of professional level experience in non-profit project managing, workforce development, or related field required
• Utilizes a collaborative mindset and communication style to accomplish the strategic goals of EmployIndy
• Demonstrates experience in solving practical problems in a timely manner
• Exceptional technology skills, including a thorough knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite, Indiana Career Connect, Indiana Career Explorer, and TORQ
• Ability to lead meetings both one on one and in group settings on a range of topics
• Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, plans for additional resources, sets goals and objectives, develops realistic action plans
• Displays original thinking and creativity, meets challenges with resourcefulness, generates suggestions for improving work, and develops innovative approaches and ideas
• Works well with a team and independently
• Assesses own strengths and weaknesses, asks questions when needed, pursues training and development opportunities, strives to continuously build knowledge and skills, and shares expertise with others
• Ability to travel, have a valid driver's license, and insurance coverage
• Philosophical agreement with the goals and objectives of EmployIndy
