Maintenance Tech - Electrician


This position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled electrical/electronic equipment installation, repair and replacement of plant equipment. 


  1. Inspect, install, repair, maintain and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and associated control systems and power circuits.
  2. Design and/or redesign electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, power circuits and control circuits as assigned.
  3. Rebuild and/or replace, lubricate and maintain large and small electric motors.
  4. Maintain and install facility lighting systems.
  5. Inspect and set safety switches.
  6. Install, maintain and repair of low and medium voltage switchgear.
  7. Troubleshoot and install programmable controllers and associated components.
  8. Make visual inspections of plant operations ensuring that operational problems have been located and corrected.
  9. Requisition parts and supplies and assist in the maintenance of spare parts inventory.
  10. Maintain records and prepare regular and special reports on electrical and electronic systems; take and log a variety of readings from equipment.
  11. Maintain all company supplied hand tools needed for maintenance function.
  12. Maintain communications with production and maintenance personnel for orderly execution of duties.
  13. Observe all EHS rules and procedures.
  14. Maintain an orderly and clean work area to assure a desirable and safe working environment.
  15. Perform other related duties as per the direction of the Facilities Engineer. 


The Electrician is expected to have mastered a wide variety of electrical/electronic fundamental skills.  Specifically, he/she must demonstrate a competency in:

-  DC drive theory,

-  AC theory

-  use of national electrical code

-  blueprint reading

-  wiring and troubleshooting

-  math

-  power distribution 120/240  

-  460-3 phase

-  relay logic

-  understands and uses all available electrical test equipment, controls, systems basics

-  troubleshooting PLC's 

-  basic PC skills 

-  conduit installation  

-  Must have mechanical repair abilities and aptitude

-  Completion of trade school, journeyman apprenticeship program, or associates degree in Industrial Maintenance is preferred.


General maintenance and warehouse

Environment – 12 hours per shift, 3-4 nights/days, per week (current opening on night shift 7:00pm - 7:00 pm); carbon monoxide from forklifts.  

Hazards – Noise, cleaning solutions 1, Solvents, peroxide(s), and a variety of dusts and powders.

Electrical Hazards - ARC and Welding Flash

PPE - Ear Plugs, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, face shields, welding helmets, cutting face shield, ARC flash clothing/tools

Other - Occasional mandatory overtime
