Employer Engagement Manager - EmployIndy

Position Summary

The Employer Engagement Manager for the IT sector is the primary point for engaging businesses in partnership opportunities on behalf of the workforce ecosystem. The incumbent is responsible for developing new employer partnerships while managing employer accounts with the intent of moving the business along our continuum of engagement. This includes prospecting and engaging new employer partners, relationship management, creating and/or expanding employer agreements, closing new hiring agreements, expanding work-based learning opportunities, attending industry focused events, and staying abreast of industry specific hiring trends. This position is on EmployIndy's Business Solutions Team and reports to the Associate Director.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Own business development efforts and strategically prospect and engage businesses as it relates to the Mission/Vision of EmployIndy and the needs of the workforce system
  • Document and achieve business prospecting goals and maintain database of employer partners and outcomes of projects within CRM
  • Develop a clear picture of the soft and hard skills in demand for target areas including credentials, degrees, and interpersonal skills
  • Attend networking events and/or establish new connections building a growing pipeline of new business engagement opportunities and expanding relationships and commitments
  • Ensure proactive, regular communication with current and future business partners to build deeper, consultative relationships, and deliver an outstanding client experience
  • Utilize working knowledge of the workforce development structure, resources, and the importance of being evaluated on performance as an organization

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Three to five years of prior sales or account management experience
  • Strong project management knowledge and experience
  • Strong human resources knowledge and experience
  • Highly skilled at developing consultative client relationships at varying business levels and owning the communication process 
  • Knowledge of service delivery area, labor market, and economic factors that affect employment and training programs and services
  • Knowledge of workforce development industry and related Indiana and federal law, regulations, and policies
  • Highly skilled in presenting information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly skilled in the use of CRM databases and Microsoft Office Suite
