Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives on 1st shift.

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred
• Industrial engineering background preferred
• Prior project accomplishments in a technical role in manufacturing
• Work conducted in an ethical manner
• Proven success, effectively communicating across all levels of an organization
• Results driven mentality
• The ability to asses and initiate work independently
• Regularly required to stand; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach
• Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
• Ability to regularly lit and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above

• Provide for and continuously improve the process for facility maintenance to meet the needs of production and safety.
• Identify what is causing equipment failures, determine if maintenance is removing the causes of failure, and drive business contributions of maintenance.
• In first 30 days you will be required to learn equipment sets and how to identify faults and failures
• In first 60 days you will be required to quickly identify and repair facility and equipment efficiently and cost effectively
• In the first 90 days you will be required to conduct preventative maintenance procedures and record these for the maintenance supervisor
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Perform process improvement activities, streamline process control and investigate equipment for process improvements
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Other duties as assigned
