Skills Development Specialist

EmployIndy has partnered with an adult & child health center focused on delivering evidence-based practices to clients of all ages who experience serious mental illness. Their community-based mental health programs are delivered by multi-disciplinary treatment teams who are specifically trained to offer the very best person-centered recovery supports in the behavioral health industry.

Overview
Adult and Child Center partners with over 100 schools in central Indiana to help students with behavioral health needs. Our Skills Development Specialists work one-on-one with students in the classroom, or in a school setting, to build needed skills. They also work with students and their families/caregivers in the home to provide a full range of support.

The Skills Development Specialist works with our School-Based Teams, which also include a Team Leader, Psychologist, and Staff Therapist. Skills Development Specialists help children and teens develop behavioral health- related skills to succeed academically and socially, creating a lasting impact throughout their lives.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, Social Work or related behavioral health field preferred
• Previous experience in behavioral health or working with children/teens preferred but not required
• Interested in helping students, grades pre-K through 12, with behavioral health needs
• Available during school hours, as well as after school to meet with students and caregivers
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with a variety of individuals (psychologists, teachers, guidance counselors, and other school/A&C staff)
• Must hold a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and provide own, insured, transportation

Responsibilities:
• One-on-one skill building with students
• Skill building with caregivers/families in the home setting
• Case management
• Crisis intervention/safety planning
• Create accurate, timely progress notes and reports/documentation
