RES COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY

The RES Coordinators are responsible for providing, coordinating and evaluating re-employment services for UI claimants selected to participate in Indiana's Re-employment Services programs. The RES Coordinator serves as WorkOne RES Coordinator to deliver all Re-employment Services programs which include Sub-RESEA and Jobs for Hoosiers. This position will be located in the Marion County WorkOne office(s) and will service the Region 12 area. This position serves as a local RES program subject matter expert and participates in training other One-Stop partner staff on standards and requirements according to DWD policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attends all necessary professional development trainings
  • Assists in ensuring rapid reemployment for claimants by shortening the duration of UI claim
  • Makes recommendations for corrective action to improve program performance
  • Works with clients to assess reemployment needs; works with claimant to create Individual Reemployment plan
  • Provides career counseling and coaching; conducts job matching and makes referrals; and assesses continued eligibility and reemployment needs
  • Responsible for keying data into state required databases
  • Conducts and coordinates individual and group RES sessions providing information on services, job readiness assessments, job service registration, UI eligibility, and other available resources
  • Provides training and coordinates reemployment services which cover resume development, computer basics, and using electronic tools for job searches
  • Consults with EI Business services to discuss employment opportunities and refer clients
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Travel within the workforce area to meet with clients and staff may be required.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of interviewing techniques, career counseling and job placement guidelines tools and processes
  • Knowledge of office operations and etiquette. Strong customer service and computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office or similar software)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to assess skill sets and reemployment needs and develop and implement reemployment plans
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews and research; collect and analyze data; and prepare correspondence, reports and training data
  • Ability to interpret and apply agency standards, policies and procedures

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with external partners and contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds and be committed to developing higher levels of Multicultural Competency
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable and insured motor vehicle
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
