Position Summary
The Employer Engagement Manager (EEM) for Construction is the primary point for engaging with businesses within the construction and trades industry in partnership opportunities on behalf of the workforce ecosystem. The EEM is responsible for developing new employer partnerships while managing employer accounts with the intent of moving the business along our continuum of engagement. This includes prospecting and engaging new employer partners, relationship management, creating and/or expanding employer agreements, designating talent acquisition partnerships, expanding work-based learning (WBL) opportunities, attending industry focused events, and staying abreast of industry specific hiring trends. The EEM has to be able to clearly explain all the ways construction and trades industry employers can connect within opportunities through our programs. It is critical that the EEM can connect the employer to engaging in opportunities already available and also inform them and achieve buy-in and engagement in providing WBL experiences as the relationship deepens. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Business Partnerships.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
• Ownership of employer engagement efforts for designated industry
• Clear understanding of how to effectively communicate within the construction industry with Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, Project Assistants, Estimators, etc.
• Generate new leads by targeting key decision makers within target employer partners, and networking within industry events to create new relationships
• Develop a clear picture of the soft and hard skills in demand for the target areas including credentials, degrees, and interpersonal skills and document in appropriate CRM database
• Strategically prospect and engage businesses as it relates to the mission/vision of EmployIndy and the needs of the workforce system, and move along the continuum of engagement for both youth and adult opportunities
• Identify and meet the needs of Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities from the employer side as well as school facing within Marion County
• Identify employment opportunities for program participants engaged with job search, job matching, related employment workshops, progress in training, and other initiatives
• Represent EmployIndy and the specific program at various networking events and coordinate and host job fairs, and on/off site visits for employers to establish a relationship, identify and develop job opportunities for program participants

Education and Experience
• Preferred experience in construction and trades industry
• Three to five years of prior sales/account management experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred, experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Skilled at developing consultative client relationships at varying business levels
• Strong project management knowledge and experience
• Strong human resource knowledge and/or experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of sales and customer service
• Knowledge of construction industry and service delivery area, labor market, and economic factors that affect employment and training programs and services
• Knowledge of workforce development industry and related Indiana and federal law, regulations, and policies
• High skill level and proficiency in the use of CRM and Microsoft Office Suite
• High level of professionalism
• High skill level in written and verbal communication
• Ability to cohesively work on a team by attending meetings, provide connections, and suggestions
• Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups
• Results driven to meet the objectives of the organization
• Philosophical agreement with the goals, mission, and vision of EmployIndy
