Director, Research and Analytics - EmployIndy

Overview 

EmployIndy guides the local workforce ecosystem and makes strategic investments to remove barriers to quality employment for underserved and underrepresented residents. The vision for EmployIndy is clear: for all Marion County residents to have access to services and training necessary to secure a livable wage and grow in a career that meets employer demand for talent.  

 

The Director of Research and Analytics will lead EmployIndy research and policy analysis activities to inform the strategic direction of the organization. This individual will oversee all data within EmployIndy management information systems and associated contracts used at EmployIndy to ensure data is being used appropriately for research activities. The position will be located at EmployIndy, downtown office, and reports to the VP, Research and Strategy.  

 

To be successful in this role you will accomplish: 

  

  • Development of annual research agenda and successful leadership and execution of major research projects and policy analysis initiatives, including the research and evaluation strategies for specific projects.   
  • Determine and effectively communicate the needs of EmployIndy to external partners, or vendors, of specified system changes that align to program requirements and goals/objectives while also detailing any deficits in current state of the data in systems 
  • Provide recommendations on system enhancements to gain more robust quality data for reporting 
  • Leadership of the data analysis team in building EmployIndy reports on the programs and policies affecting the Indianapolis workforce ecosystem, including the alignment of supply of talent and demand from employers.   
  • Develop and implement a maintenance of documented procedures (SOP) for all activities, reports and assets produced in the Research and Analytics team 
  • Provide leadership in determining priorities for ad-hoc reporting, data gathering for new grant proposals, data snapshots and other reporting requests as initiated from internal or external sources that ensures alignment of resources to organizational needs 
  • Supplies oversight to analysts on final validation and distribution of Supply and Demand data to applicable parties 
  • Identification of patterns and insights that create a story on how EmployIndy can better serve Marion County residents through demonstrated knowledge of data systems and the information that can be leveraged from those systems. 
  • Provide support to the Vice President of Research and Strategy on high priority projects as assigned.

Requirements 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, associate degree required 
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in research or policy analysis 
  • Progressive work history with increasing levels of accomplishment required 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Results driven to meet the mission, vision, and goals of EmployIndy 
  • Knowledge of and ability to extract data from various internal and external data sources.  
  • Ability to use a consultative approach 
  • Knowledge of Dynamics CRM, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite systems 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, and Power Point
