The Human Resource Generalist position will be responsible for leading and directing the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and procedures.

This position will be located at EmployIndy Downtown Office and report to the Senior Director, Internal Operations.

To be successful in this role you will accomplish:
• Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants while collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Provide support and guidance to the leadership team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
• Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Promote employee health and wellness.
• Perform other duties and projects as requested.


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in human resource, Business Administration, or related field required.
• At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Good judgment, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations appropriately, with confidence under difficult circumstances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail and organization.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
